“One of my favorite tropes in film (and music) is the girl group. It was always a pipe dream to create a band with my friends in my parents garage (ala Freaky Friday). Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. But when I returned to the idea, I was struck by the paralyzing choice an individual has to make in this position. Give up your individual dreams for the better of the collectives dream, or chase your chances when you get them? I don’t know that in Alice’s place I would have done this any better…would you?”
